Arts Connection of Central Illinois has been established for the citizens of Effingham County and beyond to showcase arts and entertainment, to encourage interaction with and appreciation of live performance, to endorse the educational process and to enhance the quality of life and cultural vitality of the region. To support our mission, in addition to our season events we also offer a wide variety of local events and educational performances. There is something for everyone to enjoy at the Effingham Performance Center. In the interest of arts education, we also provide our Summer Theater Camp for students, a unique learning opportunity teaching a variety of performance and communication skills. Tolton: From Slave to Priest

Tolton: From Slave to Priest, the powerful live production performed by actor Andrae Goodnight and directed by Leonardo Defilippis of Saint Luke Productions, will be presented at Effingham Performance Center on Tuesday, November 7 at 7:00 p.m. The event is sponsored by St. Anthony of Padua Parish Office.

Meet Fr. Augustus Tolton, the first African American priest, in this one-man multimedia performance. From his dramatic escape from slavery to his courageous struggle in the face of prejudice, Fr. Tolton’s inspiring life centers around his message reconciliation and hope. This riveting drama is filled with all the elements of professional theater, runs 90 minutes, and is suitable for ages 10 and up.

It is a one-man play, performed by actor Andrae Goodnight of Saint Luke Productions. The production includes a multimedia component, featuring a video backdrop that portrays a full cast of characters.
Due to some mature themes, we recommend the Tolton performance for ages 10 and up.

Saint Luke Productions' founder, Leonardo Defilippis, wrote and directed the play, under the guidance of Bishop Joseph Perry of Chicago, the postulator for Fr. Tolton’s canonization cause. The writing process involved extensive research in to Fr. Tolton’s life and times.
The lobby opens one hour before an event. House doors open 30 minutes prior to the start of the performance or once we have confirmation from the artist we can open the house.

Effingham's premier electric guitarists join up for the 2nd annual "6 String Summit" - A celebration of guitar mastery. Marty Williamson, one of the area's most notable players, dreamt of bringing together the finest homegrown guitarists to perform on one stage - that dream became reality in 2017. The show is back and bigger than before in 2018!

This unique event will feature Marty Williamson, Larry Passalacqua, Jon Clarkson, Mike ‘Mac’ McDevitt, Josh Morrison and Reverend Robert. Adam Burtch, Jeremy Adam, and Kyle Heynen make up a stellar backing band for the evening.

New additions to the show include vocals by Matt Poss and John Sawyer on pedal steel guitar.
